Meeting the Cricut CEO – Ashish Arora

I recently had an amazing opportunity to attend the Cricut Halloween Pop-up Event in Tokyo on Saturday, October 12th. The event buzzed with Halloween energy, blended with Cricut’s endless creative possibilities. Even better, I got to meet Japanese Cricut Ambassadors and key figures from the Cricut team: CEO Ashish Arora, Head of International Glenn Rogers, and Head of Asia Nix Shetty. Their enthusiasm made the event a true celebration of creativity, innovation, and community.

Arriving at the Pop-Up: First Impressions

I arrived early and helped the Cricut Ambassadors set up their stations ready for the attendees to start arriving at 11:30. By the time they were ready The venue was transformed into a Halloween wonderland, showcasing Cricut machines’ versatility for seasonal crafting. Each display invited guests to try custom Halloween projects, making the space both festive and hands-on.

The energy was electric as I helped attendees assemble a card project and sharing ideas and tips.  Enjoying lunch with the Japanese Cricut Ambassadors was another high point; we swapped stories, favorite projects, and creative secrets. Each ambassador brought unique styles and perspectives, adding depth to the experience.

A Chat with Cricut’s Leaders

Meeting Cricut’s leadership team was a standout part of the day. Ashish Arora, Cricut’s CEO, shared his inspiring vision for growing the Cricut community worldwide. Hearing his passion for empowering creators made our contributions feel valued and impactful. The team’s dedication to Cricut’s mission was inspiring, adding to the day’s excitement.

Hands-On Workshops and Spooky Projects

Such a great event!

After chatting with the Cricut team, it was time to dive into crafting! The pop-up featured workshops showcasing Cricut machines’ versatility. My favorite project involved making Halloween decals for trick-or-treat bags—a technique I’m excited to use in future projects. Each station let attendees experiment with different materials, like vinyl, iron-on transfers, and cardstock cutouts.

Watching newcomers discover Cricut for the first time was a highlight. Their excitement as they lifted designs off the mat reminded everyone of how empowering these machines can be. The Cricut team supported us with tips and encouragement, ensuring we all had fun.

The Event’s Impact and Looking Ahead

The Tokyo Halloween Pop-up Event felt like more than a fun day out—it celebrated the global Cricut community and Cricut’s commitment to creative empowerment. The connections made with other ambassadors and Cricut leadership left a lasting impact, reinforcing our place in this vibrant community.

As I left, I felt a renewed excitement about what’s possible with Cricut. Meeting passionate creators and leaders behind the brand made the experience unforgettable. This Halloween event truly captured Cricut’s spirit: connecting people, inspiring creativity, and empowering us all to turn ideas into shareable art. Whether for future holidays, personal projects, or upcoming workshops in our studio, I’m ready to dive into new Cricut adventures!

Sharing Kindness with Cricut

Sharing Kindness with Cricut

I recently had the fabulous opportunity to travel to Bega High School to teach the teachers!  Teacher Becky Lupton from Bega High had entered the #Cricutyourschool competition and was chosen as the winner from hundreds of entries Australia wide.

5 teachers attended the workshop to learn about the Design Space software and Cricut smart cutting machines.  They took time out of their winter holiday break to make visual displays of positivity and inclusivity. A combination of bespoke designs and Cricut designs, vinyl decals were cut with Cricut smart cutting machines and applied to windows, doors and walls! These motivational designs will welcome the students back to school and encourage and support students, and importantly help them find their classrooms now that they are clearly numbered! As Ms Lupton’s (the winner of the comp) decal says; “So many things are possible just as long as you don’t know they’re impossible”. ❤
