Refund and Returns Policy

At Making It, we want you to love your order! All of our items are made with care and attention to detail. Please take a moment to read our Refund & Return Policy, which is in line with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).


Change of Mind
We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind on personalised or custom-made items (e.g. cake toppers, engraved drinkware, or made-to-order pieces). Please check all spelling, colours, and design preferences carefully when approving your order.


Returns for Faulty or Damaged Products
In the unlikely event that your item arrives damaged, faulty, or significantly different from the description, we will happily offer a repair, replacement, or refund, as required under the Australian Consumer Law.
To process your return:

  • Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your item.
  • Email us at wendy@makingit.au with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos of the item and packaging.
  • Items must be returned in original condition (unless otherwise agreed).

Timeframes

  • Refunds will be processed within 5–7 business days once approved.
  • If a replacement is issued, please allow normal turnaround times for your item to be remade and shipped.

What’s Not Covered

  • Minor colour variations, small surface imperfections, or natural variations in handmade or custom pieces (e.g. resin flow, grain differences in timber) are not considered faults.
  • We are not responsible for delays or damages caused by Australia Post or other third-party carriers once an item has been dispatched.
